Dear friends in Christ,

I’m writing to thank everyone who participated in the planning and sponsoring of the CTSA 2010 Leadership Luncheon. The banquet hall at San Fernando was filled and the afternoon was considered a success by those who attended.

It was a blessing to have the opportunity to honor Mr. Emilio Nicolas as the recipient of the CTSA Leadership in Media Award. He is a special person who has given much to our community and our Church.

I thank Mr. Red McCombs for spending time with us and introducing Mr. Nicolas; and a special thank you to our honorary chair, Chief William McManus for is support and his presence at the luncheon as well.

Michael Belz, the President of Catholic Life Insurance presented the St. John Vianney Award to Archbishop Gomez in honor of all the priests in the Archdiocese. It was a very special way to observe the Year for Priests as declared by Pope Benedict XVI.

Our Keynote Speaker, John Allen, was a hit. I got many comments about his unique insights into the personalities of Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI.

And of course we thank CTSA’s own Martha Tijerina for her work as Mistress of Ceremonies.

Thank you all,

Deacon Pat Rodgers
